EASD Counseling Program Receives Prestigious National RAMP Designation

EASD has earned national recognition from the American School Counselor Association, receiving the 2026 Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) designation for its outstanding school counseling program. East Allegheny is one of only two school districts in Pennsylvania to receive this distinction this year, recognizing the work of counselors Lesley Hawkins, Lyra Hartlein, Joseph Pedulla, and Emilia Mattucci in supporting students’ academic, career, and social-emotional success.

EA senior Ian Miller balances a demanding schedule that includes swimming, robotics, track and field, art club, and Interact while maintaining strong academics and developing discipline and resilience. Through robotics competitions and years on the swim team, Ian has learned the value of teamwork, quick thinking, and consistent effort. After graduation, he is considering attending CCAC to pursue nursing or entering the IBEW to become an electrician.

The East Allegheny School District Board of Education has a Board Member vacancy in Region 9. 

Any qualified electors, of the District, residing within the region 9 area, interested in being appointed to fill this position effective April 7, 2026, for the unexpired portion of the term, should submit a letter of interest and resume. 

Pennsylvania Department of Education Act 47 Survey
The Pennsylvania Department of Education has invoked Act 47 of 2025 regulations to consider consolidating the Duquesne City School District.
A project team has been formed to assess the educational, financial, administrative, and community impacts of consolidating Duquesne City with East Allegheny. The state is also considering three other school districts as part of its Act 47 requirements. Should the state opt to consolidate the Duquesne City SD, the receiving district would welcome all Duquesne students in grades K-12.

Join us for an evening celebrating Black History through the voices and talents of our students. East Allegheny high school students will share presentations, artwork, music, and dance honoring influential Black leaders who continue to inspire new generations.

This community event is free to attend, with food and drinks provided, and no registration is required.

Logan Elementary invites parents and incoming kindergarten students turning 5 by September 1, 2026 to attend PAWS Nights, fun and informative kindergarten registration events for the 2026–2027 school year.

East Allegheny proudly hosted its first VEX V5 Robotics Competition State Qualifier, bringing together 13 school districts and 29 teams for a day of problem-solving and collaboration. The event showcased student innovation and growth, with East Allegheny teams earning finalist honors and qualifying for both state and national-level robotics competitions.

East Allegheny launched its first Unified Champion Bocce team this winter, bringing students with and without disabilities together to build friendships, teamwork, and a stronger culture of inclusion. Inspired by statewide Unified programming, the team emphasizes connection over competition while reinforcing that inclusion is an expectation at EA. Beyond the court, students are forming meaningful relationships and promoting inclusion.

East Allegheny is celebrating a major boost to its athletic programs with a $250,000 grant from the Tull Family Foundation. As part of a countywide pilot focused on expanding youth sports, the district will use the funds to upgrade aging facilities and enhance access for all student-athletes. This support marks an exciting step forward for the school community.

Hands-on activities and interdisciplinary projects challenge them to explore, ask questions, and work together. The East Allegheny Marching Band captured its 11th consecutive regional Tournament of Bands first-place finish and a second straight Pennsylvania State Championship title with a powerful, student-driven show inspired by the music of Queen and Freddie Mercury. Under the direction of Justin Rosco, the band blended musical excellence, creative visuals, and collaborative spirit to deliver a memorable, championship-caliber performance.
